Message sur les concours chercheurs 2023
La section 01 du Comité national siègera en jury d’admissibilité pour les concours 2023 numéro 01/01 et 01/02 publiés au Journal officiel en date du 4 décembre 2022 et sur le site des concours du CNRS : 01/01 et 01/02. Le guide du candidat est également publié sur le site de concours du CNRS.
La section rappelle que sa méthodologie et ses critères sont disponibles ici (français) et ici (anglais).
Concernant le concours 01/02 (CRCN), la section encourage vivement toute candidature dont le profil relève de ses thématiques. Parmi les huit postes ouverts au concours, six sont coloriés thématiquement et géographiquement. À ce titre, la section rappelle que, lorsque l’intitulé d’un poste comporte le mot “prioritairement”, il s’agit d’une indication non exclusive. La section précise que l’excellence scientifique des personnes candidates reste primordiale. Le jury l’évaluera premièrement à partir de l’activité de recherche et des travaux scientifiques effectués pendant la thèse et les éventuels séjours postdoctoraux, en veillant à identifier l’apport personnel des personnes candidates dans les résultats présentés. Le deuxième élément d’évaluation de l’excellence sera le (ou les) projet(s) de recherche. Un projet de recherche personnel, qu’il soit accompagné, ou non, d’un ou plusieurs projets correspondant aux éventuelles indications thématiques du poste, sera favorablement considéré par le jury.
Concernant le concours de directeur de recherche de 2eme classe (DR2), la section souligne que le CNRS a ouvert au concours une dizaine de postes supplémentaires, toutes thématiques confondues, pour des candidats et candidates externes: la section encourage vivement toute personne dont le profil relève de ses thématiques à postuler au concours 01/01.
Pour les lettres de recommandation, les candidats sont invités à consulter la procédure pour les avis de personnalités scientifiques, décrite dans le guide du candidat. Celui-ci mentionne que le programme de recherche proposé peut être accompagné d’une lettre de soutien du directeur (ou de la directrice) du laboratoire concerné, mais cela n’est pas obligatoire et son absence n’hypothèquera pas les chances des candidats.
Pour le concours 01/02, les auditions se tiendront du 03 au 08 avril 2023 en présentiel. Cependant, nous rappelons que des aménagements d’épreuves sont possibles pour les personnes en situation de handicap dans les conditions prévues par les arrêtés d’ouverture des concours. Pour les candidates et candidats résidant à l’étranger, les candidates enceintes et les candidates et candidats dont l’état de santé le justifie, l’audition est organisée en visioconférence sur demande auprès du service central des concours.

CNRS competition 2023 : Communication from the section
Section 01 will stand as the “jury d’admissibilité” for the CNRS competition number 01/01 and 01/02, published in the Official Journal of December 4th 2022, and on the CNRS website: 01/01 and 01/02. The candidate’s guide is also published on the website of CRNS competition.

Regarding the 01/02 competition (CRCN), the section strongly encourages any applicant whose profile relates to the section’s themes. Among the eight positions open to the competition, six are thematically and geographically coloured. In this respect, the section recalls that when the title of a post includes the word “priority”, this is a nonexclusive indication. The section points out that the scientific excellence of the candidates remains paramount. The jury will assess this firstly on the basis of the research activity and scientific work carried out during the thesis and any post-doctoral stays, being careful to identify the personal contribution of the candidates to the results presented. The second element of evaluation of excellence will be the research project(s). A personal research project, whether or not accompanied by one or more projects corresponding to the priority assignments of the posts, will be favourably considered by the jury.
Concerning the competition for senior scientists (DR2), the section emphasizes that the CNRS has opened up about ten additional positions for external candidates in all fields: the section strongly encourages any person whose profile relates to the section’s theme to apply for the 01/01 competition.
For letters of recommendation from scientific personalities, applicants are invited to consult the procedure described in the candidate’s guide. The candidate’s guide mentions that the proposed research project may be accompanied by a letter of support from the director of the laboratory. This is not mandatory and its absence does not jeopardise the candidate’s application.
For the 01/02 competition, the auditions will be held from April 3 to 8, 2023 in person. However, we remind you that adaptation of auditions are possible for people in a situation of disability under the conditions provided for by the decrees opening the competitions. For candidates residing abroad, pregnant candidates and candidates whose state of health justifies it, the audition is organized in videoconference on request to the central competition service.
