Message sur les concours chercheurs 2025

La section 01 du Comité national siégera en jury d’admissibilité pour les concours 2025 numéro 01/01 (10 postes DR2) et 01/02 à 01/09 (9 postes CRCN) publiés au Journal officiel en date du 10 décembre 2024 et sur le site des concours du CNRS : 01/01(DR2), 01/02, 01/03, 01/04, 01/05, 01/06, 01/07, 01/08 et 01/09. Le guide du candidat est également publié sur le site du concours.
La section rappelle que sa méthodologie et ses critères sont disponibles ici (français) et ici (anglais).
Concernant les concours CRCN, 9 postes sont proposés répartis sur 8 concours (01/02 à 01/09) : la section encourage vivement toute candidature dont le profil relève de ses thématiques. Elle précise que les personnes candidates peuvent s’inscrire à plusieurs concours, ayant la possibilité de déposer des dossiers et des projets de recherche adaptés à chaque concours envisagé.
Parmi les huit concours, sept sont “fléchés” thématiquement et géographiquement, avec des descriptifs des postes plus ou moins larges permettant à des candidats et candidates aux profils variés de candidater dès lors qu’ils ou elles envisagent les thèmes et affectations proposées :
- les concours 01/02, 01/04 et 01/08 affichent un seul laboratoire d’affectation et une thématique scientifique correspondant à celle d’une équipe de recherche particulière,
- les concours 01/03, 01/05, 01/07 et 01/09 affichent plusieurs laboratoires d’affectation possibles et des thématiques scientifiques plus larges permettant une affectation dans différentes équipes de recherches en fonction des projets de recherches proposés par les personnes candidates.
Le huitième concours, 01/06 (2 postes), affiche une thématique prioritaire et plusieurs laboratoires d’affectation possible. Il s’agit alors d’une indication de priorité scientifique qui n’exclut pas les candidatures de personnes présentant un projet sur des thématiques différentes ou dans d’autres laboratoires de l’Institut.
Le jury évaluera l’excellence scientifique des personnes candidates à partir de l’activité de recherche et des travaux scientifiques effectués pendant la thèse et les éventuels séjours postdoctoraux, en veillant à identifier les apports personnels dans les résultats présentés. Le deuxième élément d’évaluation sera le (ou les) projet(s) de recherche.
Concernant le concours 01/01 de directeur de recherche de 2ème classe (DR2), la section souligne que le CNRS a ouvert au concours une quinzaine de postes supplémentaires, toutes thématiques et tous instituts du CNRS confondus, pour des candidats et candidates externes : dès lors, la section encourage vivement toute personne dont le profil relève des thématiques de l’institut Nucléaire et Particules à postuler au concours 01/01.
Un site de dépôt des lettres de recommandations est disponible sur le site du CNRS (https://www.cnrs-bellevue.fr/formulaires/scc-recommandation2025.php) et les candidates et candidats peuvent donc donner cette information aux personnalités scientifiques dont elles souhaiteraient un avis sur le programme de recherche. La section rappelle qu’elle n’est pas habilitée à recevoir des lettres directement. Enfin, le guide du candidat mentionne que le programme de recherche proposé peut être accompagné d’une lettre de soutien du directeur (ou de la directrice) du laboratoire concerné, mais cela n’est pas obligatoire et son absence n’hypothéquera pas les chances des personnes candidates.
Pour les concours 01/02-01/09, les auditions se tiendront du 31 mars au 5 avril 2025 en présentiel à l’IP2I (Lyon-France). Cependant, nous rappelons que des aménagements d’épreuves sont possibles pour les personnes en situation de handicap dans les conditions prévues par les arrêtés d’ouverture des concours. Pour les candidates et candidats résidant à l’étranger, les candidates enceintes et les candidates et candidats dont l’état de santé le justifie, l’audition est organisée en visioconférence sur demande auprès du service central des concours.

CNRS competition 2025 : Communication from the section
Dear colleagues
Section 01 will stand as the “jury d’admissibilité” for the CNRS competition number 01/01 (10 positions DR2) and 01/02 to 01/09 (9 positions CRCN), published in the Official Journal of December 10th 2024, and on the website of the CNRS competition: 01/01(DR2), 01/02, 01/03, 01/04, 01/05, 01/06, 01/07, 01/08 and 01/09. The candidate’s guide is also published on the website of the CNRS competition.

Regarding the CRCN competition, 9 positions are open through 8 competitions (01/02 to 01/09) : the section strongly encourages any applicant whose profile relates to the section’s topics. We emphasize on the fact that the candidates can apply to several competitions, having the possibility to submit applications and research projects adapted to each competition.
Among the eight competitions, seven are thematically and geographically focused, with position descriptions more or less restrictives allowing candidates with different profiles to compete providing they fit within the proposed scientific thematics and geographical affectations :
- the competitions 01/02, 01/04, and 01/08 propose only one laboratory for the affectation and the scientific thematic corresponds to the one of a given research team,
- the competitions 01/03, 01/05, 01/07 and 01/09 propose several laboratories for the affectation and larger scientific thematics allowing to join different research teams depending on the proposed research projects of the candidates.
The eighth competition 01/06 (2 positions) propose a scientific priority and several possible laboratories for the affectations. It is only an indication of scientific priority, but does not exclude applications from people presenting a project on a different topic and in another laboratory of the institute.
The jury will assess the scientific excellence of the candidates firstly on the basis of the research activity and scientific work carried out during the thesis and any post-doctoral stays, being careful to identify the personal contribution of the candidates to the results presented. The second element of evaluation of excellence will be the research project(s).
Concerning the 01/01 competition for senior scientists (DR2), the section emphasizes that the CNRS has opened up about fifteen additional positions for external candidates in all fields and institutes of the CNRS: therefore, the section strongly encourages any person whose profile relates to the scientific themes of Nuclei and Particles Institute to apply for the 01/01 competition.
A deposition site for recommendation letters is available on the CNRS web site (https://www.cnrs-bellevue.fr/formulaires/scc-recommandation2025.php) and the candidates can therefore give this information to scientific personalities to which they request recommendation letters. The section recalls that she cannot receive such support letters directly. Finally the candidate’s guide mentions that the proposed research project may be accompanied by a letter of support from the director of the laboratory. This is not mandatory and its absence does not jeopardise the candidate’s application.
For the 01/02 to 01/09 competitions, the auditions will be held in person from March 31 to April 5, 2025 at IP2I (Lyon-France). However, we remind you that adaptations of auditions are possible for people in a situation of disability under the conditions provided for by the decrees opening the competitions. For candidates residing abroad, pregnant candidates and candidates whose state of health justifies it, the audition is organized in videoconference on request to the central competition service.
